Phoenix hosted its first ever Best Friends Animal Society Strut Your Mutt walk to raise money towards saving shelter animals. Every day more than 9,000 dogs and cats are killed in shelters. Our dream and wish is to make that number Zero! Through the help of our friends, we were able to raise money and help support this cause.
We made it to Freestone Park, the site of the very first Phoenix Strut Your Mutt Walk to benefit Best Friends Animal Society. There are doggies everywhere!! We can’t wait to strut our stuff on the catwalk! Wait, this is a dog walk, not a cat walk!!
We’re at the start line, ready to strut our stuff off! We have to say a huge, huge Thank You to everyone who supported us, donated money and is walking with us in spirit. Because of each of you, we were able to not only blow away our donation goal, but helped to exceed the target goal for the Phoenix walk! Thank you for helping us do what we can to give all the animal babies homes as wonderful as ours!
We be strollin’!! It was a fairly long, hot walk for our little legs (and some of us have to save our energy for tomorrow’s big jump event), so we all piled into the stroller and Mommy was our chauffer, with a few curb assists from Daddy! It was obviously the right decision, because everyone we passed said “AWWWWWWW”!!
Whew, we did it! We strutted our stuff all around the park. Okay, so really, we just rode in style, but it was still exhausting. We’re just going to rest here in the shade for a while. Our fans and the paparrazi are welcome to come by and say hi!
Doesn’t it look like we are in paradise?!? We are so blessed to be able to experience such beauty and happiness! We wish and dream that every doggie in this big wide world will have the opportunity to experience something just as beautiful and be filled with as much joy for life and living as we have. Every day and every dollar gets us just a little closer to that dream…one day there will be a day when dogs and cats are no longer killed in shelters.
