#4PeakChallenge2017
It was our second 4 Peak Challenge, and we rocked it! The goal is to the hike to the top of four mountains in our city of Peoria, AZ in one day. From the start line to the finish line, including all the steps in between the mountains, we hiked 13 miles! Mommy wishes she had attached a pedometer to Jax, because the step count would have been off the charts!
Bruiser was excited to introduce Jax to the 4 Peak Challenge this year!
Seriously, why are we up so early?
I may look calm, but I’m ready to go, go, go!
The plan had been for us to ride in backpacks to the first peak, conserving our energy and giving us the ability to hike some of each mountain. But, Jax had a different plan…he busted out of the backpack as quickly as possible, and just wanted to get down!
We’re with you Dad, right at your side, no need to worry. We got this!
Saying it was windy would be a bit of an understatement!
Our first mountain peak…Sunrise Mountain! It’s the longest hike of the four…4.6 miles, but the views are amazing!
Hey, Mom, you ready to hike back down the mountain? We’ve still got a full day ahead of us!
I thought about hiking the whole time, but I started to slow down a bit on the second mountain. So, I rode for a while, but not super long. These legs were made to run!
One of us is full speed ahead, and the other is deliberate and purposeful. Who do you think gets where they’re going faster?
WestWing Mountain, it’s a tough one! 3.5 miles with steep inclines and rocky terrain, and the wind still hadn’t let up. It’s a good thing we rode for part of it!
Hey, Mom, what’s next…this is awesome!!
In between mountains, we always took a break to fuel up…chicken and blueberries…yum, yum, yum!
We’ve got our game faces on…we can do this! Come on Peak 3!
I may be regretting all that running I did on the first mountain. Calderwood Butte you have kicked my booty!
Feeling pretty good about convincing Daddy to backpack me up to Peak 4…the way Daddy’s complaining about his legs, I’m glad mine are getting to rest!
EastWing Mountain, you are our favorite, as you’re our mountain, and we hike you all the time…but, we’re hot and tired, so this is the best we can give you!
What?!? No, I can still keep hiking…just put me down, I’ll-Zzzzzzzzzz!
We thought we’d be nice and let Mommy & Daddy pose with us. They did do a lot of the work to get us up all four peaks, so it only seemed fair!
