Arizona, we think you’re beautiful…even your rest areas have pop!

Yeah, Mom, pretty sure this gas station is not going to have any treats. You better have packed the good stuff!

We could use a little of that rain fall right about now! It’s HOT out here…just like Mommy likes it!

Poker Tournament!?!? We’re in! Hand over the cash, Mom…we’re going all in!

Uh yeah, this definitely doesn’t look or feel like Arizona! You forgot to pack our jackets, didn’t you Mom?!?!

Look who we ran into in Santa Rosa, New Mexico!! It’s Mater! Thank goodness we didn’t need him…we just said hi!

Thank goodness we made it to the Glenrio Ghost Town while it was still light! Not that we’re afraid of ghosts…but Daddy is!

We caught a few Zzzzz’s. Now it’s time to top off the car and hit the road for another full day of driving. 

U Drop Inn. Don’t mind if we do! We’ll have some bacon with a side of bacon.

This is what happens when you let Mom drive! Pretty sure you took a wrong turn, Mom! Off-roading in the countryside should not be required!

The trip home did not start off as pleasant as the trip out! It took us until Oklahoma to even see a peek of blue sky. Even that peek was accompanied by ferocious winds, cold temperatures, and mister sun didn’t stick around long! But, when there’s a break in the rain, a pit stop is a must! 

Mom’s weather curse is currently following us home! 40-50 mile an hour winds are pushing against us as we travel across the state of Texas. The temperatures are in the very low 40s and it continues to rain off and on. When the water tower is about to fall over, you know the wind is out of control!

New Mexico…we have never been so happy to see you! Sun, blue skies, temperatures in the 60s, less wind, no snow, no rain…the desert is getting closer and closer! This roadie is looking up from here!

Day 2 is off to a much better start…sunshine, no rain, no wind and temperatures are headed up, not down…it’s going to be a good day for some adventuring! First up…based on the paraphernalia on the ground, we’ll say this is where all the teenagers hang out and party in Coolidge, NM! Sorry we missed your party!

We be getting our kicks on Route 66!

Of course, since we’re such good travelers, Daddy had to treat us all to a root beer float!

Since all we ever talk about is the warmth and sun of the desert, you all probably think that’s all Arizona is…but, nope…this is Arizona, too! Snowcapped mountains, evergreens and perfect temperatures. Part of what we love about Arizona…this is just a short two hours away from our home! 

We see cacti! It’s starting to look like home! We’re on the home stretch!
