#PBJDoesCalifornia
Playing on the beach, hiking in the mountains and visits to Hollywood, Ventura & Santa Barbara made for a memorable California adventure.
Jax’s first road trip! Who would have guessed our back seat could get any cuter?!?
There is no better detour on the way to the beach, than a drive through Joshua Tree National Park
Our first adventure group photo! Daddy put us in our places, Mommy said look at me, and click it was done!
My first rock climbing adventure…I may have little legs, but I’m one brave pup!
Yep, Joshua Tree National Park is beautiful, but we’ve seen enough and we’re hot…let’s get to the beach!
Hey, Pebs, who’s that snuggling with you?!?
Just in time!
Just doing our thing in Ventura!
We’re not sure…when it’s unseasonably hot, is it better to walk or be squished in the stroller all together?!?
It pays to be little! Too hot in the top bunk for me, I’ll take the bottom bunk all to myself!
Each of us has our own unique way of enjoying the beach.
Yeah, I’m good up here away from the water…socializing with the people!
The student and the master.
Hollywood, we have arrived!! If anyone knows of any walk-on extras needed, we’re ready and available!
We went all the way to Santa Barbara so Daddy could have some organic, nondairy ice cream! Did we get ice cream?!? No, we got to pose on some Spanish steps…oh, and chicken liver treats!
Pebbles may not want to be down by the water, but that doesn’t mean she won’t have fun on the beach with her brother!
A true Benji smile!
Joey has been so full of life and happiness on this trip! He’s rested soundly when it’s resting time, and he’s been active and full of spunk when we’re out exploring. It makes my heart so very happy!
Jax found a new passion! This is a first for us…we’ve never had a dog that dug before. Let’s hope he only uses his digging skills at the beach.
Beach time is exhausting!! (This is not staged. Benji found the towel all on his own, and curled up. Shortly later, Bruiser joined him with the exact same pose.)
We escaped the heat and went into the Rose Valley for some early morning hiking.
We hiked along a wooded trail to the Rose Valley Falls. We had the trail and the falls all to ourselves! What an awesome morning!
No adventure would be complete without a posed group photo at the falls.
I attempted to learn how to boogie board today!
Let’s just say the surf was a bit intense and overpowering for my little guy muscles! But, I gave it the Super B try, and even stayed on for a few quick rides.
Daddy was so impressed by my skills, that he asked me to teach him. Look at how happy he is with me! Seriously, he’s such a big kid.
You know our Mom! Of course she came prepared to do a full on photo shoot on the beach!

It’s our last day at the beach…so we went all out!!
Take only memories, leave only footprints.
