#DoggyBirthdayCake

Mommy made us a homemade cake for Jax’s First Birthday Bash! No question about it, we gave it a 5 Star review and are trying to figure out how to get more!

Mommy is pretty particular about what we eat. It needs to be real food, nothing processed or way out of line with our diet of meats and veggies. Thinking about what she could combine to make a fun cake, she came up with this creation.

You’ll need:

  • 1 lb of Ground Meat (We get our meat from US Wellness)

  • 1 Sweet Potato

  • 2-3 Eggs

  • 1 Can of Pumpkin

  • Treats (Preferably our favorite, Dehydrated Liver)

Start by peeling, chopping and boiling the sweet potato in a pot of water for approximately 15-20 minutes until it is tender and easily mashed with a fork.

Next, mash the sweet potato and allow it to cool.

Add, the ground meat to the cooled sweet potato and mix it up.

Next, add 2-3 eggs and mix again.

Now, get your hands in there and form your mixture into any shape you want. (We believe, if you wanted to, that you could cook your cake at this point…kind of like a meat loaf! We eat raw food, so there was no need for us to cook the cake. But, if you prefer cooked food, form the cake on a baking sheet and put it in the oven at 350F for 20-30 minutes. Keep an eye on it to make sure it browns and doesn’t burn.)

Next up is the frosting! Open a can of pumpkin and slather it on the cake!

Of course, no cake is complete without sprinkles. Break up your favorite treats and sprinkle them all over the cake. Our favorite treats are dehydrated liver…so easy to make and devour!

Top your cake with a candle, and it’s party ready!!

For the four of us, this recipe made enough cake for us to have it two nights in a row…and we skipped our normal dinner.
