#Travel&EmergencyKit

When you travel with your pups, do you have an emergency kit or a travel kit on hand? We’ve always had a hodge-podge of items that go with us, but until now, we’ve never had an organized, well planned kit…ready for anything!

Even if you don’t travel, having an emergency kit at home is always a great idea! When faced with an emergency, our emotions can get the best of us. With adrenaline pumping through our body, we can forget everything we thought we knew and were prepared for. Having an emergency kit, with everything you might need, can calm you down and help you to focus on the current situation and what you need to do to address it.

In an easy to remember and locate spot, include a piece of paper that has:

  • The phone number and address of your veterinarian

  • The phone number and address (and directions, if necessary) to the closest emergency animal hospital

  • The phone number of your local animal ambulance or transportation service, if one is available

  • An Animal Poison Control hotline. In the US we have the ASPCA Poison Control hotline 888-426-4435 and/or the National Pet Poison Helpline at 855-764-7661

Of course, our adventures can take us into remote areas, far away from civilization, so we’ve tried to include everything we could possibly think of in our kit.

Depending on your adventures and your travels, you may not need everything we do, but hopefully this list will give you ideas and suggestions for building your own kit!

We also make sure that anything we include in our kit for our pups is human grade/quality…which enables us to use it on ourselves, if we find ourselves in need.
