Now that we live in Arizona, a visit to California and the beach is just 6-8 hours away. This summer, we packed up the car and headed to the beach! We loved the beach…big smiles, pure happiness and joy etched on everyone’s faces!
On the road again, just can’t wait to get on the road again!! We’re headed to California and the beach!! Two places we’ve never been. Stop taking photos, let’s get this trip started!
This will be our home away from home. A cute, perfectly styled home just minutes from the beach. It even has a nearby park and walking trail. We’re gonna have fun!
Our first visit to the beach was a success! Bruiser and Pebbles were a little unsure about the incoming waves. Even though they would run when the water came up to them, they both still got wet and just kept coming back for more. Pebbles even got amped up enough, and pestered Bruiser into playing a game of chase with her. There was sand everywhere!
Bruiser & Pebbles at Oxnard Beach, California
It was fantastic to see Bruiser and Pebbles having so much fun. I was really surprised by how much Pebbles just went with the flow. That’s not her personality, at all! I just love the joy etched across their faces.
The house we are staying at has a hidey hole perfect for hiding from my pesky brothers! Now, it just needs some puffy pillows, a chandelier, some glitter and glam, and all the amenities fit for a princess! All pinks and purples, please! (If she only knew the size of the dog that owns that home!)
We tried to go for a hike in the Santa Monica Mountains, but it turned out to be way too hot. We went a short distance and both Mommy & Daddy said nope, this is too much for you guys. (Personally, we just think they’re weanies and weren’t up for the hike!) But, we couldn’t leave without getting one memorable photo. You can tell how hot it was, just by the length of our tongues…and the fact that you can actually see Benji’s tongue! It’s a rare sighting!
After our strenuous morning hike, a leisurely stroll around the City of Ventura sounded like the perfect afternoon. We started at a beautiful park, full of trees, walking paths, shade, cool breezes and lots and lots of smells!
Then, we went to Historic Downtown Ventura and walked along the streets…putting big smiles on the faces of everyone we passed.
Of course, we had to stop by City Hall! Where we received lots of compliments for our amazing posing skills!
Joey’s comfort is brought to you by our friends, @winstonandbeemo. Last Christmas they gave us the blanket he is using as a bed, and this week they gave us the toys he is using as a pillow. Joey rates the Winston & Beemo Sleep Number Bed as a 10!
So exhausted, I may never move again!! Just kidding, give me an hour and then I’ll be ready to play fetch with my new toys!
Another day spent adventuring around Ventura! We walked all the way to the end of the pier, where it was crazy windy and there were lots of birds that we so badly wanted to chase!
After walking the pier, we then had to go venture underneath it, check out the beach, and strike a pose. It’s so fun when people walk by and doubt our abilities. We show them, every time!
No visit to the beach would be complete without a beach modeling photo! We’re wearing our favorite designer, Waggiwear.com.
These two!! I have never seen bigger smiles, crazier zoomies, and just reckless abandonment!! And yes, they are ridiculously dirty! And yes, it was totally worth it!
Bruiser & Pebbles at Silver Strand Beach, California
It’s a requirement that on your last night in California, you hit the beach! Nothing quite like being bathed in the light of the setting sun.
Don’t worry swimming friends! There might not be an official lifeguard on duty, but Bruiser’s got you covered.
Our California adventures have come to an end. We had the best week ever! Met up with so many of our friends, saw so many new sights, experienced the beach and the ocean, got lots of gifts and love and cuddles, played really hard…and slept even harder. We’re going to miss you Cali, but there’s no place like home!
Love this little guy! Got home, came inside the house, and he promptly walked over to his bed, curled up and went to sleep. There’s no place like home!
